Your assessment of Kevin is correct.
Javier could be considered bored, sure. But fortunately for him he'll only have a small stint in the role. Madge (from the meeting at the Ruins) had been serving as Burgermeister's secretary when Talbot went to see him. Somewolf else will do it soon enough. I picture it as a job one does for a week, as it could get too confusing to follow or keep track of stuff in his schedule and such if you're thrown into it for just a day.
Hmm, given the nature of the position, it seems more likely a week and training time stint for anyone not really desirous of staying longer. The previous secretary should train the new one for a couple days to ensure that the transition is smooth. The new secretary could then work for a week or so before training the new one and so on.
How long do you think anyone would be willing to be Basil's secretary?
Javier has most likely done it before. All 'wolves get training in all jobs. No 'wolf would ever stay on as anything. The town runs on rotational occupation, remember? :) The only way to "stay on" as something is if you own a shop, like Clarence. Shop owners spend a larger percentage of their labor at their shop, but are still required to help with/do everything else in town as well.
so when does talbot start getting training? he was given a week (work week or full week, btw?) to acclimate to the town, and i believe...two days? have passed since he became a citizen
Yes, he's been given a week, full week (as any 'wolf can be assigned any day, with two days off per week [not always in a row]). Training would be on site at each job. Depending on the complexity of the work, either other 'wolves already working at each place will "show the ropes" and help out with questions for each job. As Inagare suggested, for something like Burgermeister secretary, another 'wolf's job would be to train. But usually it's just on site, as no 'wolf is going to hold it against any 'wolf for being new and therefore making mistakes or needing help. It's a nice town. :
Yes, about two days. Talbot arrived Friday night. It's now Monday morning shown in the comic pages that are currently up.
and is it just me, or does basil's secretary look a lot like most other secretaries tend to look - bored out of his skull?
