Indagare - Finally! Here's the page with the answer to the question you had asked long ago!

Hey thanks! I'm assuming that this means the dye lasts between transformations? Would they have a full body dye for anyone desiring it?

I had another question unrelated: we know Riqurélio is the oldest 'wolf there but also that he sought out others. Are any of those second-oldest 'wolves still around?

Yes, the dye lasts until the next transformation. Especially since most 'wolves just stay in their wolf form. A full body dye could be done, sure.

Yes, and you have already seen him in the comic. ;)

LegendaryLycanthrope's not basil, is it?
PeterVonBrown 8th Apr 2020, 1:27 PM edit delete reply
Nope. Basil's quite old, yes, but he's nowhere near even close to Riqurélio.
LegendaryLycanthrope 8th Apr 2020, 2:12 PM edit delete reply
well, i can't think of any other wolf seen so far that could even begin to approach that age - except the evilbad wolf, but i don't see pirate wolf seeking him out...unless it was to smash his snout in for indirectly being the cause of duarte's murderous rampage
PeterVonBrown 8th Apr 2020, 2:28 PM edit delete reply
That's the one! Riqurélio didn't seek him out, though, and "The Boss" is still in Transylvania.

If you're curious as to who the second oldest 'wolf in Wolverton is - well, it hasn't really come up yet. But Basil is in the running.

I wonder if it's Kevin. LegendaryLycanthrope mentioned before about his pants. It could be he wears them like that because he's from the time when it was the thing to do.

Actually, on the subject, exactly how long can a 'wolf naturally live?
PeterVonBrown 11th Apr 2020, 12:46 PM edit delete reply
Kevin and Ernie {mentioned by Kevin but not shown yet} can be considered rather long in their years, sure, and your idea makes sense, Indagare. :)

In theory, they can live forever, but they can also be killed easily (meaning no supernatural incantations or special equipment needed). Also, they hinder themselves by remaining a 'wolf. Would if remained human, too. They can only "reset" as to their last incarnation. So, with a little savvy, a 'wolf can stick around. But Riqurélio and The Boss are definitely the oldest. Who's the eldest of those two? Riqurélio.

"Also, they hinder themselves by remaining a 'wolf. Would if remained human, too. They can only "reset" as to their last incarnation."

Can you explain this more clearly or will it come up later?
PeterVonBrown 12th Apr 2020, 11:10 AM edit delete reply
They age normally whether in wolf or human form. The longer they remain in a form, they accumulate the aging for those amount of days. When they shift, they regenerate back to the last time they shifted. So, in many cases, a month ago.

However, since they can remain in their wolf forms all the time if they choose (and in Wolverton that's just how it goes), they are not shifting. When the full moon comes (the only compulsory shirt) they are already in wolf form so 'nothing happens' (other than sharper senses or more focus during full moon, perhaps) and they then accumulate the days of aging for the whole duration of how long between shifts. If three moons go by without a shift, your 'cell memory' fizzles out and you start the reset from the next new shift. So those seeking to remain alive forever shift at least once a month.

Ah. Since folks in town do have 'human' duty, I imagine this helps. Also folks aware of this probably could shift once a month in privacy and no one would really know. I'm going to guess that Riqurélio and Big Bad, at least, take advantage of this.
