Do Romano have a standard human lifespan?
PeterVonBrown 1st Jul 2020, 6:17 AM edit delete reply
Yes. Yes they do.

Just wanting to be sure for timeline purposes. In the other strip it sounded like the coys had been around for quite some time.

'The Boss' has, yes. For as long as Riqurélio. But he's 1) not a Coy. 2) in Transylvania. The CoyWolves (Sebastian, Cliff & Crystal are the only ones) have only been around for a few months or so. (Also curious - which strip/page makes it seem like they have?)

Page 234. I misread the great-grandfather thing and assumed it meant the Coy had been around as long as that too. It wouldn't have been impossible for his great-grandfather to still be around if they had the werewolf longevity thing, but it would have made the Roma thing a lot longer back.

Sebastian doesn't realize how long the Boss has been around. He just knows it's a good long time. He certainly doesn't think it's hundreds of years.

so do the funny squiggly lines with a barbell between them mean anything significant (like, is that an actual rune) or is it just a random design?
PeterVonBrown 6th Jul 2020, 4:20 AM edit delete reply
They do indeed mean something. Thanks for asking! The middle line with the circles on its ends represent the stone connecting two points to each other (i.e. wherever the other linked stone happens to be). The S shaped squiggle denotes a sound wave. It has one on both sides because this is a Sonabic Scryer. On page 98 'The Summoning', the scryer that Cliff uses has the S squiggle on one side but a C-like drawing with three lines off of it on the other meant as an eye looking out - the symbol for visual contact as well. Theirs does both. A Visuic only scryer only would have two eye marks on either side. The designs are created for the comic, not actual runes.

so, what we can infur from zorpina's closing dialogue with whoever was on the other side of the magi-zoom call...they have no clue either
PeterVonBrown 8th Jul 2020, 12:02 AM edit delete reply
That's correct. Danyor's encounter, however, shows promise.
