If you're wondering if you missed a page, you have not. If you're expecting to find out what Lynda said to Mabel, sorry, you will not. It's completely irrelevant. This sequence (minus the text from Kevin) recreates a fan beloved nonsensical scene from The Simpsons. The show itself nods to Bugs Bunny cartoons.

And no, I did not forget to color Gwen's hair/fur. On page 227 Yes to the Inquiries she mentions that she needs to go into Manchester as a human on Wednesday and would therefore need her fur recolored. Today is Wednesday in the comic, so she's got her natural fur color. She's going in the morning to see Mabel at the Ossory Fur Dresser.

Remind me how that works with the fur recolor and shifting. Is it that it stays colored for one shift ('wolf to human/human to 'wolf) or that it can stay colors through multiple shifts?

That is, I'm assuming she'll be going to Mabel as a 'wolf, getting her fur dyed, then shifting to human and her hair will stay whatever color it is for that shift, but on returning to 'wolf form the dye will die and she'll have her natural color back until Mabel redyes it.

Almost. You've added a "step" that doesn't exist. Go to fur dresser as a 'wolf. Get fur dyed. It stays that color. Done.

It will stay that color through a number (would likely depend) of washings and remain that way because they DON'T shift. Shifting will cause it to be all natural fur color again, and it then needs re-dyed.

In general, the 'wolves don't shift at all. Really the only times Wolvertonians shift is to be a human (which they hate) so it's done for town visits when necessary only, and to fix injuries (they don't get injured often) and maybe once a month to "reinvigorate" Regenerative Longevity. Otherwise they remain 'wolves.

Yes, but I think I've missed something here. I thought she was going to Mabel to get her hair dyed specifically because she's going out as a human. Or did she already go and now needs it redone?

It's Wednesday night in the comic. Therefore, she had gone during the day and so her hair is the "wrong" color now. She'll get it recolored in the morning, and had asked Mabel about it on page 227. As it stands, however, I'm not depicting her trip to the fur dresser.

Ah, okay, thanks! Comic time is a bit funny, and I wasn't sure at what point this was, exactly.

So when do we get to see the Family Guy recreation?

"Who the f*censor-dog bark*k starts a conversation like that? I just sat down!"

And why would any of them need to revert to natural fur colors? It's not like crazy hair colors are rare among humans anymore.

You won't, as I've ceased being fond of that show long ago. Besides, they'd been deep in conversation before you got to them.

It has nothing to do with not wanting to appear with the colored fur. Reversion to natural fur color happens because it grows out from their regular hair color. When they revert, the hair/fur that's colored goes away.

Not much to say here other than a girl's night out. Enjoy your night ladies.

Yes, admittedly it's more so a vehicle for the reference. However, it's one I'd been waiting to make for over four years. But it does contribute in that we see Lynda hanging out with a friend, gives us Good ol' Larry again and it will matter a little more in pages to come.

That is one of my favorite nonsensical scenes from The Simpsons
